My name is Bryan Tuck, I am a fellow Catholic-Christian and have been the principal of my own graphic design studio since 1992.
Over the years of my design career I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to work at home and be with my wife and children as they are growing up. My income has been the sole income of our household since 1994 when my wife, Julie, retired from providing daycare services.
Since that time business has generally been very good. Yes, there have been peaks and valleys, and of late the valleys have been greater and closer together. This is not your concern, but just a little bit of history.
The majority of my design career has revolved around deigning printed collateral material to help promote area businesses’ brochures, catalogs, retail advertisement, outdoor and the like. In mid 2007, I ventured into website design. While I have educated myself on the intricacies of website design, I was interested in what to do with the website once it was completed. How do customers find the site. That question lead me down a path of discovery into the art of search engine optimization (SEO). So I have a ever growing knowledge of the internet and what it takes to get a website noticed by the search engines.
During this time, I became involved in a few internet, network marketing companies. I was enticed by the “guarantee” of making a lot of money over a short period of time. This was to be the answer to the valleys that I was experiencing financially.
To make a long story short, this was not working out and is taking more time away from my design business than I could really afford.
Over the years, I have longed to be able to provide my design services to those Catholic organizations that do so much good in our society. I have pursued some and have been Blessed to be able to provide services to the diocese in Grand Rapids, Michigan for a period of time, Intercessors of the Lamb, along with posters and informational brochures for various organization on occasion.
Hang in there, I am getting to my point…..
Recently on my way to Sunday Mass, I was discerning everything about my design business and the internet businesses I am involved in. All of them seemed to be going nowhere.
My prayer before Mass was asking the Lord what He wanted me to do about it. What did He want me to do? I guess I have never really asked before.
With that prayer something truly amazing happened. Fathers’ homily for the day reflected on the life of St. Peter and how we are so much like him. Trying to be faithful, believing and even being courageous, yet repeatedly doing things to the contrary.
Father talked about the casting of the nets (Luke 5:1-11) where Peter and the Apostles fished all night long and caught nothing. Then Jesus told them to return to the sea and cast their nets again. This time they caught more fish then they could nearly handle..
This was a startling revelation to me that day. What was revealed to me was, where was I casting my net for the almighty dollar or for the Almighty God. This short story from Father showed me that without God the nets will be empty and With God there will be an over abundance of whatever may be fishing for.
Now this may sound trivial to some, but I had been wandering along for quite some time with my design design business stagnating.
At one point during holy Mass it was placed upon my heart to begin another “branch” of my design services specifically for the Catholic churches, ministries, organizations and for-profit businesses with a fee structure based soley on monetary offings back to Crown12Media in the form of a donation as the good Lord allows you to do so.
I am here today, as a servant of God, to offer my graphic design, website design and website hosting services to you and your ministry.
May God continue to Bless the work you do.
